Travel From the United States To Mozambique
Global Hunting Solutions, in partnership with 4 Aces Outfitters Mozambique, delivers fully guided, high-end hunting expeditions across some of the country’s most productive and remote concessions. A Mozambique hunting safari combines authentic African wilderness, comfortable camp accommodations, professional service, and carefully planned field operations.
Our dangerous-game programs focus on mature trophy animals and ethical, fair-chase hunting under the direction of experienced professional hunters. Guests receive personal assistance with scheduling, travel planning, firearm documentation, ground transfers, and preparation before departure.
Once in camp, the outfitting team manages daily hunting strategy, trackers, meals, lodging, trophy care, and transportation. This owner-led approach provides direct communication, clear expectations, and personal accountability throughout the expedition. Every safari is customized around each client’s priorities, experience level, and preferred trophy species.
Led by Owners and Directors Adam Barnard and Travis Wier, our Mozambique division provides direct access to exclusive concessions known for quality game and exceptional wilderness hunting. Each expedition is planned around the target species, season, and current concession conditions. Depending on the itinerary, clients typically travel through Johannesburg and Maputo before continuing to Lichinga and a remote hunting camp. Our team coordinates transfers, professional hunters, trackers, accommodations, meals, and field logistics so guests can focus on the hunt. Mozambique is especially well suited for leopard, Cape buffalo, lion, crocodile, hippo, and select plains game opportunities. Because vegetation and animal movement vary throughout the season, we build sufficient time into each itinerary and set realistic expectations for a true wilderness hunt. Clients wanting additional plains game afterward can also continue to our South African operation.

Hunting in Mozambique
Planning a Mozambique Hunt: Questions Answered
What makes hunting in Mozambique different?
Mozambique hunts take place in large, remote wilderness concessions, known locally as coutadas. Cape buffalo is the headline species, alongside leopard, lion and plains game.
What rifle do I need for Cape buffalo in Mozambique?
Plan on a .375 or larger for dangerous game. We recommend the .375 H&H Magnum, .450/400 Nitro Express, .470 Nitro Express or .500 Nitro Express.
How long does it take to get trophies home from Mozambique?
Plan on months, not weeks. Trophies go through dip-and-pack, export permits, shipping and U.S. Fish and Wildlife clearance before they reach your taxidermist. For our South African hunts that takes 8 to 12 months; we will give you the estimate for Mozambique when you book. See how getting your trophies home works.
Do I book directly with the owners?
Yes. You plan your hunt with the owners, Travis Wier and Adam Barnard, not a booking agent relaying messages. One team is accountable from your first call to your trophy shipment. Read booking agent vs outfitter for what that changes.

Book Your Mozambique Safari
Plan your Mozambique hunting safari with Travis Wier and Adam Barnard around your priority species, travel dates and preferred pace. Discuss Cape buffalo, leopard or a combination safari with our team so the hunting area and camp match your goals.
Allow for remote travel. Confirm your route through Johannesburg and Mozambique, any overnight stays, and the final road or air transfer to camp before booking flights. Separate the hunting days from travel days in your itinerary.
Know what your quote includes. Request a breakdown of daily rates, trophy fees, guiding, camp accommodation, transfers and permit arrangements. Ask about additional costs for trophy preparation, shipping and non-hunting guests.
For a plains game extension, explore our South Africa hunting safaris. Request a personalized Mozambique itinerary with your species list and travel window.
