Welcome to one of Africa’s most unique and untapped safari destinations—Uganda, the Pearl of Africa. At Global Hunting Solutions, we are proud to offer premier hunting adventures in Uganda, led and hosted by Travis Wier, who brings over 30 years of full-time hunting experience across the globe.
Destination Overview
Uganda is located in Eastern and Central Africa, bordered by Kenya, South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, and Tanzania. Though it sits on the equator, Uganda’s climate is moderated by elevation, offering surprisingly comfortable hunting conditions year- round. Daily highs rarely exceed 90°F (35°C), and nighttime lows typically stay above 40°F (5°C).
Our Uganda hunting season runs January through November, with peak buffalo and hartebeest hunting from December through April, before the grass gets too high. The areas we hunt— primarily in the Kafu River Basin and along the papyrus-lined banks of the Nile River—hold Africa’s highest density of Sitatunga, making this one of the best places in the world to pursue this elusive swamp antelope.

Each hunter may import up to two rifles into Uganda. While there is no official limit on ammunition, most airlines cap this at 11 pounds total. We recommend:
• .270 – .300 caliber for plains game
• .375 – .416 caliber for buffalo and larger species
Suggested ammo: 60 rounds for your light rifle, 20 softs and 20 solids for your big-bore.
Handguns, automatic/semi-automatic rifles, and suppressors are not permitted. If you prefer not to travel with a rifle, Global Hunting Solutions can provide a suitable camp rifle and ammunition—please request pricing and availability when booking.
All hunters must obtain a Uganda hunting license and rifle import permit prior to arrival. A daily conservation fee applies and are included with our three packages.
These fees, as well as rifle import costs, are included in your all-inclusive safari package when booked through Global Hunting Solutions.
