A family hunting safari with Global Hunting Solutions gives the hunter a world-class hunt and gives everyone else a true luxury vacation. Same lodge, same table every evening, and nobody in camp but your party.
A family hunting safari is a private trip to Africa or Spain where one or more people hunt with a professional hunter while the rest of the group, a spouse, children or friends, enjoys a guided vacation of their own. Everyone shares the same lodge and comes back together each evening.
Most hunting trips are built only for the hunter. A spouse waits at camp and the kids stay home. We plan two trips inside one, so the people you love come home with their own stories. Whether you are planning an anniversary, a milestone birthday, a son or daughter's first hunt, or a reunion with old friends, your family hunting safari is built around who is coming and what each person wants from the trip.

South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia. Hunt from our lodge, then add Cape Town, Kruger or Victoria Falls for the whole party.

Separate mornings, shared evenings. This is a sample day in Africa. Every day is built around your group, and anyone who wants to watch the hunt is welcome to ride along.
Coffee at first light, then out with the professional hunter and trackers while the game is moving.
Sleep in, or head out on an early game drive to find wildlife before the heat of the day.
Lunch in the field or back at the lodge, glassing and planning the afternoon.
Pool time, a spa treatment, a long lunch, or a visit to a local village or school.
The evening hunt: spot-and-stalk, a blind over water, or tracking.
A walking safari, a boat cruise, a horseback ride or a wildlife photography outing.
Everyone back together. Sundowners, the day's stories, and dinner by the fire.
The most common question we hear is simple: what will my wife, husband or kids do while I hunt? The honest answer is that many non-hunters come home saying it was the best trip of their lives. Here is what a typical week can include.
Open-vehicle drives with a guide at sunrise and sunset to find elephant, giraffe, zebra, lion and the big herds. In Zimbabwe and Zambia, river cruises on the Zambezi.
Massages and treatments, the pool, a good book on the deck and a long lunch. Plenty of guests choose a slow day between bigger outings.
Village and school visits, Cape Malay food in the Bo-Kaap, seafood on the Atlantic coast and long lunches in the Winelands.
A helicopter over Victoria Falls, a sunset cruise on the Zambezi, Table Mountain and Cape Point, Boulders Beach penguins, or a Kruger photo safari.

Highlights include Victoria Falls and the Cape Floral Region around Table Mountain, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Non-hunters can also ride along on the hunt itself. Many spouses find that watching a stalk with the professional hunter and trackers is the most exciting part of the week, and some decide to try it themselves on the next trip.
Children get the same care. Younger kids enjoy short game drives, tracking lessons, animal spoor and bird walks, and fireside stories with the trackers. Teenagers often shoot at the range with a professional hunter, and a first plains game hunt under close supervision can be the highlight of a family hunting safari. We always confirm the local age rules first.

Mountain hunts for ibex, red stag and mouflon, paired with Madrid, Seville, Toledo and Ronda. The easiest first family hunting safari for couples.
Spain is the easiest place to blend a serious hunt with a classic European vacation. Hunting areas sit within driving distance of cities like Madrid, Seville, Toledo and Ronda, so a non-hunting spouse can spend the day in a historic old town and still meet the hunter for a late dinner.
For the hunter, Spain means mountain hunting for the four ibex of the Spanish Ibex Grand Slam, plus red stag and mouflon. Ibex hunting in Spain is steep, scenic and physical, and the meals at the end of the day are some of the best on any hunting trip.
For everyone else, Spain is short flights, great food, comfortable hotels and no long transfers. It is a strong first trip for couples who want to test the idea of a family hunting safari before committing to Africa.

It is a private trip where one or more people hunt with a professional hunter while the rest of the family or group enjoys guided activities such as game drives, spa days, sightseeing and cultural visits. Everyone stays at the same lodge and shares meals and evenings.
Yes. Non-hunters are the reason these trips exist. Your spouse gets a dedicated itinerary, a guide or host, and the same luxury lodge, and can join the hunt to watch any day they like.
Yes, when it is planned for them. We choose family-friendly lodges, keep children with experienced guides, and match activities to their ages. Hunting age rules differ by country, so we confirm what each child can take part in before you book.
South Africa and Spain are the easiest first trips for couples. South Africa pairs our Northern Cape lodge with Cape Town, and Spain pairs ibex hunting with Seville, Ronda and Madrid. For bigger bucket-list trips, Zimbabwe and Zambia add Victoria Falls.
Cost depends on the country, species, number of hunters and non-hunters, length of stay and add-ons such as Cape Town or a Kruger photo safari. Non-hunting guests are charged a lower daily rate than hunters. Ask for a private quote, or see our South Africa hunting safari cost guide for current rates.
For Africa, the dry winter season from about May to September is the most popular for hunting and game viewing. Spain's ibex seasons vary by species and region; our Spanish ibex hunting season guide covers the timing.
Yes. Our Spain + Africa Combined trip can combine countries, for example an ibex hunt in Spain with a plains game safari in South Africa, planned as one trip.
Trophies are prepared at our licensed dip-and-pack facility, and we handle export permits and documents. We recommend a U.S. customs broker for import clearance. Expect 8 to 12 months for trophies to arrive in the United States.
