Zimbabwe Hunting Safaris: Tracking Africa’s Giant Elephants
Our Zimbabwe hunting safaris offer a traditional elephant hunting experience across expansive, rugged wilderness. Each hunt is conducted with experienced professional hunters who understand the terrain, elephant behavior and the importance of careful field judgment.
Zimbabwe remains one of Africa’s important elephant destinations, with hunts conducted in established safari areas under regulated wildlife-management programs. Conditions and opportunities vary by area, so every safari is planned around current availability and the hunter’s goals.
Tracking these giants is a true test of endurance and skill, following spoor through sand, reading wind, and closing the distance on animals that demand absolute respect.
For many hunters, a Zimbabwe elephant safari represents one of Africa’s most demanding and memorable dangerous-game experiences.
Zimbabwe Leopard Hunting:
Big-Tom Predators
Our exclusive VIP hunting areas in Zimbabwe are carefully selected for their exceptional leopard habitat and history of producing giant, mature toms. These remote, game-rich areas give serious hunters the opportunity to pursue heavy, powerful leopards in a true African wilderness setting.
These are not average cats. Our VIP areas are managed to produce mature, thick-necked toms whose size, age and power represent the pinnacle of leopard hunting in Africa.
Zimbabwe Cape Buffalo Hunting:
Heavy, Hard and Unforgiving
Zimbabwe’s remote safari areas offer classic Cape buffalo hunting for mature bulls, including old “dagga boys” known for their heavy bodies, hard bosses and unpredictable temperament.
Expect:
Old “dagga boys” pushed out of the herd
Thick cover and close-range encounters
Adrenaline-filled tracking in some of Africa’s wildest terrain

Hunting In Zimbabwe
Planning a Zimbabwe Hunt: Questions Answered
What can I hunt in Zimbabwe with Global Hunting Solutions?
Zimbabwe is a dangerous game destination. Our hunts focus on elephant, leopard and Cape buffalo in free-range country, and plains game can be added to most hunts.
What rifle do I need for dangerous game in Zimbabwe?
.375 is the legal minimum caliber for dangerous game in Zimbabwe. We recommend the .375 H&H Magnum, .450/400 Nitro Express, .470 Nitro Express or .500 Nitro Express.
How long does it take to get trophies home from Zimbabwe?
Plan on months, not weeks. Trophies go through dip-and-pack, export permits, shipping and U.S. Fish and Wildlife clearance before they reach your taxidermist. For our South African hunts that takes 8 to 12 months; we will give you the estimate for Zimbabwe when you book. See how getting your trophies home works.
Do I book directly with the owners?
Yes. You plan your hunt with the owners, Travis Wier and Adam Barnard, not a booking agent relaying messages. One team is accountable from your first call to your trophy shipment. Read booking agent vs outfitter for what that changes.

Book Your Zimbabwe safari
Build your Zimbabwe hunting safari around your priority species: leopard, Cape buffalo, elephant or plains game. Travis Wier and our team will discuss the hunting area, professional hunter, camp and travel arrangements before preparing your itinerary.
Planning a leopard hunt? Ask about our VIP leopard areas and the hunting method available for your proposed dates. Discuss the walking involved, terrain and your fitness so the plan reflects the demands of the hunt.
How much time should you allow? Our Zimbabwe itineraries generally require 10–18 days, depending on the species and safari configuration. Confirm hunting days, transfer days and the arrival airport in your written itinerary.
What should you confirm before booking? Request a breakdown of daily rates, trophy fees, camp accommodation, guiding, transfers and permit arrangements. Discuss trophy preparation, shipping and any additional costs separately.
Comparing destinations? Explore our Botswana hunting safaris, or request a personalized Zimbabwe hunting quote with your preferred species and dates.
